Can I enter a piece in more than one category?

Yes, you can submit the same piece in multiple categories. Please note that the entry fee is due for each category entered.

Can I enter “composite” entries for the Individual Crafts categories?

Yes, you can enter edited submissions for the Individual Crafts categories. These entries should focus on the individual’s craft skills, and do not need to include a full production.

What is the eligibility period for entries?

Any work that has been completed since January 1, 2008 is eligible.

Can I submit my entries online?

Entries up to 50 MB can be submitted to our FTP site.  How to do it: After you have completed the online entry process, you can upload entries. First create a folder on your desktop. Name the folder (Your_Name). Put all of your files to be submitted into that folder.  Use Fetch, Transmit or any FTP application. FTP SERVER: ampixx.org USER NAME: enter  PASSWORD: award12   Once you have connected, open the httpdocs folder, and upload the (YOUR_Name) file.  That’s it.

How do I submit web sites or other work on the internet?

When you fill out the details online for each entry, simply list the URL under Title of Entry.

How is judging done?

Entries are judged on a standard of excellence, not against each other.  Entries scoring 9.0 or higher on a 10-point scale qualify for the Platinum EMPixx award. Those scoring 7.0 to 8.9 qualify for the Gold EMPixx Award. Judging results are sent by email, and each entry’s score is included, along with brief judge’s comments about each of your entries. In addition, results are sent by US Postal Service, along with one free certificate for each winning entry.

How do winners order awards?

As soon as the judging is complete, all entrants are notified about their entries by email and US Mail.  Winners get a free EMPixx Awards certificate, which is sent along with your notification. Winners  may order statuettes and certificates online. These awards may be personalized as the winner chooses. Winners may also purchase awards for clients, as well as for production people.

How much do the awards cost?

Statuettes are custom engraved, and are $145 each, including shipping to the US and Canada. Certificates may also be ordered customized as you wish. The charge is $20 per certificate, including shipping anywhere.

How will winning entries be publicized?

All EMPixx winners, both Platinum and Gold, will be listed on our web site.  In addition, winning firms will be provided with a press release, photos of the awards and other items that you can place with media in your locale.

Do you do media interviews?

Of course. While some awards competitions do not give media interviews, we are happy to do so, and will provide the media with quotes about individual winning entries.
